My Journey as an Entrepreneur

I’d like to take a moment to share my personal journey, hoping it inspires you as you embark on yours.

The Awakening: Identifying the Need for Change

I have always had the entrepreneurial spirit. At 25, I joined the world of network marketing for one of the top direct selling skincare companies in the world (hint: you can earn the use of a prestigious pink car) and the fire was lit. At the time, I was single and living in my own apartment. I fell head first into that company and it made me believe that I was on the right path in my life. I was so confident in the daydream I had created in my mind, that I quit my full-time job as a Territory Manager for a medical equipment company where I was making an amazing income... and I failed, hard. I met roadblock after road block, disappointment after disappointment. So after 6 months, I had to get another 9-5.

Fast forward a few years, with a wedding, a baby on the way and the purchase of our first home, I leaned into the company again with a grain of salt and it helped us to reach our financial goals.. I was more cautious this time with how I approached the business. When the "great" pandemic of 2020 hit and everyone went remote, I was working from home with a 6 month old and I was having a hard time juggling and maintaining any sort of sanity. The fear, isolation and post-partum took a toll on not only myself but my family. Once I finally felt like I had my feet back on the ground, well, here came a surprise - baby #2!

So there I am with 2 babies under 2 and just a week before Thanksgiving and the start of the holiday season quickly approaching, the company went through a re-organization and I lost my job. That was the catalyst that made me realize I wasn't living the life I had imagined for myself or my family. My husband and I agreed that I would take on a stay at home role and he would continue working while I did odd jobs to bring in a bit of extra income. I adored the time spent with my family, but I slowly started to realize I also craved a creative outlet and a way to contribute more financially without sacrificing those precious moments. This became especially apparent once my children started school and we realized my youngest was having medical issues. I started researching options that would allow me freedom to be home for those moments when my kids needed me and quickly understood that many parents were stuck in this same sinking boat. That was my "aha" moment!

Diving Into the World of Side Hustles

With determination and maybe some desperation, I began exploring different side hustles that would fit seamlessly into my schedule. While juggling family commitments, I tried various avenues—some were successful, and some were not. At one point I was spinning six different side hustle plates with varying degrees of success. However, each experience taught me invaluable lessons: the importance of setting realistic goals, the value of consistency, and the power of community.

Finding My Niche: Helping Others

After months of trial and error, I found my groove. I discovered my passion was not just in building a side income but in helping other parents that were struggling like myself. I realized that sharing my experiences, tips, and strategies could empower others to achieve their financial goals without sacrificing family time. That building an income stream didn't have to be hard if there was a clear path to what is ultimately your destination. Everyone's success looks different. Some may need a couple hundred dollars here and there to pay off debt while some need a full time income. Both can be achieved if you apply the lessons I learned along the way.
